All wants caretaker govt: Opposition BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed,Bangladesh

NOAKHALI: Opposition BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed categorically said not only BNP wants the caretaker government but all walks of people want it.

He also claimed that the demand of the caretaker government would not be foiled.

The senior leader of the party came up with the observation while addressing a council at Koralia area of Basurhat Municipality under Companiganj upazila of the district on Saturday noon.

The senior lawyer of the Supreme Court forewarned that the movement would continue until the government makes the amendment of constitution for election under nonpartisan and neutral government.

Awami League, who called 173 days of hartals in 1994-95 to establish caretaker government, now taking stance oppositely as they are concern about their definite defeat in the next general election, the BNP leader said.

He also said people are barely living amid three and half years’ tyranny, corruption and rancorous politics of AL.

Moudud claimed that the government failed to investigate into the Sagar-Runi and Saudi diplomat murder incidents.

With Maeen Uddin Kachi in the chair, the programme was also addressed, among others, by Haji Abdul High Selim, Kamal Uddin Chowdhury, Nurul Alam Sikder and Khaza Nazrul Islam.
