DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan Saturday said those, who are plotting against the country would meet dire consequence that ‘Mir Zafar’ had faced.
He came up with the statement in a discussion on the 255th anniversary of Palashi Tragedy organized by Sangskritik Oikya Front at the National Press Club auditorium in the city.
He said, “The present scenario of the country is worse than the then situation of Palashi.”
Besides, he also urged the freedom fighters to work with the new generation to save the country from further plotting.
Dr Moyeen said, “Bengal, Bihar and Orissa wanted to stay free but the central India didn’t allow it and this conspiracy is still prevailing.”
Among others, Bangladesh Kalyan Party Chairman Major General (retd) Syed Mohammad Ibrahim Bir Pratik, Jamaat executive member Hamidur Rahman Azad MP, Kabi Al Mujahidi spoke in the programme presided over by Dhaka University former Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Emajuddin Ahamed.
