CHITTAGONG: Director General of Bangladesh Railway M Abu Taher categorically said that country’s’ railway sector is currently passing through a transition period.
He came up with the observation while addressing a programme held at East Railway Security Training center ground in port city Saturday.
Indicating the trained security personnel, M Abu Taher said, “You have to discharge your pledged duty and it is you who have ensure the security of the passengers and save the railway assets.”
Quoting no development in railway sector in last 40 years, he added, “The governments ruled the country did not paid heed to improve this sector and it was neglected always.”
He also assured that there will be revolutionary changes in railway sector in next three years and service will be enhanced at the same time.
The programme was attended, among others, by railway additional railway director general Khalilur Rahman, general manager (project) Anwarul Kabir and chief Commandant of East Railway Faruk Ahmed.
