DHAKA: Industries Minister Dilip Barua Saturday categorically said the contribution of industries sector in national economy has to be increased by 40 percent for implementing Vision-2021.
The industries minister came up with the observation in a seminar titled ‘Economics Zone for Light Engineering Sector: Opportunities and Challenges’ held at FBCCI auditorium in the city.
Dilip Barua said, “The government has taken decision to build five industrial cities where the foreigner will also get opportunity to invest equally.”
The automobile, plastic and light engineering will get separate places in these cities, he added.
With Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President AK Azad in the chair, the seminar was addressed, among others, by secretary of Bangladesh Economics Zone Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan and secretary of Industries Ministry KH Masud Siddique.
