DHAKA: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-2) in separate raids arrested seven suspected activists of Hizbut Tawhid, a newly emerging Islamist outfit, from city’s Mohammadpur and Dhanmondi area early Saturday.
RAB source said acting on a tip-off RAB members conducted drives in different parts of the city and held those activists early Saturday.
Confirming the arrest, RAB-2 senior operation officer ASP Raihan said, “The elite force also recovered a laptop, four computers, eight mobile phone sets, hundreds of leaflets, CDs and books from their possession.”
He said, “They will be taken to the RAB-2 headquarters in city’s Agargaon area on Sunday noon.”
