Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed for people’s confidence in insurance,Bangladesh

DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed Friday said people’s confidence should have to be achieved to boost up country’s insurance industry.

The law minister made the observation while addressing a programme of diploma certificate and Mostafizur Rahman Khan and Saleha Khanom Trust Gold Medal distribution at Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University.

“Insurance industry can be faced threat for irregularity and illegal activities. So, the irregularities have to be stopped,” he said.

He said insurance industry is a potential industry and it can play a vital role in poverty reduction and eradicating unemployment in the country. “So, the incumbent government has taken programmes to flourish the industry,” he said.

Addressing the function, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique said, “Modern world is obsolete without insurance. The role of insurance is so important to protect national resources.”

Secretary of bank and financial institution department Shafiqur Rahman Patwari and Professor Mahfuza Khanom addressed at the programme presided over by director of Bangladesh Insurance Academy F Kamal Uddin.

Four great insurance personalities were given Mostafizur Rahman Khan and Saleha Khanom Trust Gold Medal for their outstanding contribution in insurance industry.
