E-ticketing after Ramadan:Communications and Railway Minister Obaidul Quader MP,Bangladesh

DHAKA: Communications and Railway Minister Obaidul Quader MP Friday said the government would introduce e-ticketing across the country after Eid-ul-Fitr.

The railway minister came up with the assertion while talking to journalists during visiting Jessore Railway Station.

He said, “Bangladesh Railway will introduce e-ticketing on Rajshahi-Khulna route in limited volume from next week.”

The system would be introduced countrywide in phases after the month of Ramadan, he said.

The minister made a sudden visit to Jessore Railway Station Friday.

Meanwhile, he talked with the passengers of Sundarban Express. The passengers informed the minister that seats in trains are less than the demand.

The minister apprised that Bangladesh Railway has taken preparation to provide extra service ahead on upcoming Ramadan.

Later, the minister told the journalists that a foot-over-bridge would be built in Jessore Railway Station.
