Monjur Rahman Businessman killed in Narsingdi,Bangladesh

A businessman was gunned down by some unknown miscreants in Narsingdi Bazar area on Tuesday night.

Police and family members said Monjur Rahman, 32, was shot around 11pm Tuesday at his shop in the Bazar's Dudhpotti area.

He was a dyeing and chemical businessman. Hailing from Comilla's Muradnagar, since his marriage Monjur had been living at his in-laws at Narsingdi's East Dattaparha area.

His wife Taslima Begum told reporters that Monjur left for the shop at noon as per his daily routine. The unidentified gunmen shot him around 11pm there.

Doctors at the Narsingdi Sadar Hospital declared him dead as he was taken there with bullet injuries.

Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Shitol Debnath told reporters two bullets hit Monjur in his throat and one in the chest.

Narsingdi Sadar Police Station OC Mohammad Asaduzzaman said they had has already started investigation into the killing.

"We suspect that the assailants knew Monjur from before," he added.
