Polls to be held like other democratic countries: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,Bangladesh

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also Ruling Awami League President, said the next general elections would be held by following the other democratic countries.

The premier came up with the assertion while inaugurating the national council of Krishok League on Thursday noon.

She said, “A total of 5,225 elections were held during our regime. Nobody could raise a single question regarding the issue. We will try to arrange the next polls in democratic way.”

Mentioning about the corruption committed by the then BNP-Jamaat government, she said, “Their main aim was to create militancy and terrorism.

The Awami League chief said, “FBI has given deposition against Khaleda’s sons. But, we will cherish the spirit of independence war and trial all corrupts.”

Criticizing Khaleda Zia, she said, “BNP is giving threat to stop our development works after assuming power. People understand that they are not working for them. So, people will not cast their votes for BNP again.”
