“Government to be dragged down after Eid” : Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir,Bangladesh

Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir categorically said that the incumbent government will be dragged down after Eid through hartal and blockade.

“The country and countrymen are not safe during Awami League government tenure, so it should be ousted,” he added.

He came up with the observation while addressing a protest rally in front of party’s central office Friday.

Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal organized the rally demanding release of City Jubo Dal (north) general secretary SM Jahangir.

Mirza Fakhrul said, “The movement, demanding rights for vote and rice, reestablishing democracy and in order to save the freedom and sovereignty of the country, will be accelerated after Eid and under the leading of Khaleda Zia the countrymen will establish a democratic government.”

He also demanded withdrawal of fake cases filed against party’s chairperson and her son Tarique Zia and release of SM Jahangir.

With Jubo Dal president Moazzem Hossain Alal in the chair, the rally was addressed, among others, by by party’s finance affairs secretary and Dhaka city unit BNP member secretary Abdus Salam, Abdus Salam Azad and Saiful Alam Miraj.
