As per directive of the communications minister, show cause notices were served on three engineers of Roads and Highways Department (RHD) of Chittagong Division Saturday morning on charges of their negligence in duty.
The engineers are Superintendent Engineer Zia Uddin, Sub Divisional Engineer Julfikar Ali and Executive Engineer Ranaprio Barua.
The minister, who made a sudden fly to Chittagong, also asked Chittagong Railway authorities to transfer its chief security officer and the ticket counter staff before Eid-ul-Fitr on charge of black marketing tickets ahead of the Eid.
As he reached Chittagong in the morning, the minister visited the Oxygen-Hathazari and Boro Dighirpar-Bhatiari roads and expressed his dissatisfaction over the dilapidated condition of the roads.
Then, he issued the directive for issuing show cause notices against the three engineers.
Later, the minister went to Chittagong Railway Station and received complaints from passengers of a huge black market of tickets.
He asked the authorities to transfer station’s Chief Security Officer AKM Saleh Patowari and the ticket counter staff before Eid-ul-Fitr to check black marketing of railway tickets.
