MADARIPUR: A defamation case was filed against ATN Bangla Chairman Dr Mahfuzur Rahman for making “derogatory remark” on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Executive Editor of a local weekly Sajedul Haque filed the case with the court of senior magistrate Masud Pervez Thursday.

The court asked the ATN Bangla boss to appear before it on August 14 in this connection.

As per the case statement, Mahfuzur Rahman has called Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ‘talkative’ in a programme during his recent visit to London.

He made this comment while recalling PM’s remark that “It is not possible for the government to guard anyone’s bedroom.”

A private television channel broadcast a report on his speech on June 25.

On June 16, some of dailies published the report.
