Taking back Rohingyas Myanmar to send proposal to Bangladesh

FROM SANGSAD BHABAN: Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni Wednesday apprised that the Myanmar government has prepared recommendation and guideline for taking back the Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh.

The foreign minister made the remarks while addressing parliament in response to a question from lawmaker Muhibur Rahman Manik at the question-hour session.

“The government is always communicating with the Myanmar government to give back the refugees,” she said.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker said giving back the Rohingya refugees to Myanmar is a complex and lengthy process.

Some 36,000 refugees have been send back till 2005, he told the House.

In response to another query from Habibur Rahman Molla, she said, “The government has been requesting Pakistani government for taking back the Pakistani nationals who had been trapped here after 1971.”
