Terming the proposed national budget for the upcoming fiscal a
realistic one, the country’s apex trade body said Saturday that it would
be a challenge for the government to implement.
“The budget is not ambitious, rather realistic,” Federation of
Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Kazi
Akram Uddin Ahmed said while giving formal reaction on the finance
minister’s proposed budget.
The FBCCI chief stressed that good governance and political stability
will be prime requirements for the implementation of the budget.
Akram, also a member of the ruling Awami League’s advisory
council, thanked the prime minister for allocating funds for the Padma
bridge.
Finance minister AMA Muhith on Thursday proposed a Tk 222,491-crore annual budget outlays for fiscal 2013-14.
