Awami League advisory council member and minister without portfolio Suranjit Sengupta Monday said the main opposition BNP’s decision of not taking part in Kapasia by-elections is undemocratic.
The AL leader made the comment while addressing a discussion meeting on 87th birth centenary of the country’s first Prime Minister Tazuddin Ahmed.
Those who advised BNP not to take part in the election are not well-wishers of BNP, Suranjit said.
He urged BNP to participate in the Kapasia by-polls.
Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote organized the programme at Public Library auditorium in the city.
Cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam chaired the programme.
The minister expected that the World Bank would reconsider to provide fund to Padma Bridge project.
