The authorities on Tuesday closed Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College for an indefinite period following clashes between the activists of BCL and JCD.
The resident students have been directed to vacate the dormitories on the campus by 5:00pm, reports a correspondent from Bogra.
The academic council at an emergency meeting early Tuesday afternoon decided to close the college fearing further clashes, said Principal Prof Dr Mahbubul Karim.
At least 10 people were injured when Bangladesh Chhatra League, the ruling Awami League-backed student body, and the main opposition BNP-backed Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal clashed on the campus Monday afternoon.
The clash erupted on Monday when BCL activists intervened in a meeting of the JCD at the college canteen.
Later, the BCL activists attacked the Chhatra Dal men at the college dormitories, leaving at least 10 injured.
Three of them were taken to the medical in critical condition.
