NEW YORK: Ailing writer and soap-opera maker Humayun Ahmed was taken to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Bellevue Hospital in New York.
Chief executive of Anno Prakash Mazaharul Islam informed it to banglanews on early Friday (BD local time).
Humayun could not sleep the whole night as he felt pain in his body from Wednesday evening (New York’s local time).
As per doctor’s suggestion, he was first taken to emergency department of Jamaica Hospital. Doctors conducted different tests to identify the causes of pain. Then, he was shifted to Bellevue Hospital.
On June 12, a successful six-hour surgical operation was done on him at the hospital. So, he was taken to here due to under care of his doctors who conducted the operation.
Among others, his wife, two sons and a host of well wishers and friends were present at hospital.
