Flights in and out of Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong were cancelled Tuesday afternoon as rainwater overflows the runway.
Shahabuddin Chowdhury, immigration inspector of the airport, told that the flight operations have been ceased temporarily since 4:30pm.
He added that the authorities concerned are trying to clear the water from the runway, reports our Chittagong correspondent.
Chittagong Met office (Agrabad) recorded 144 millimetres of rain in the last six hours till noon on Tuesday, leaving most of the areas of the city under waist-deep water.
