Detective Branch (DB) of police on Friday night arrested two close associates of listed criminal Dakat Shahid who was killed in a 'gunfight' with Rapid Action Battalion in the capital in July.
A team of DB police arrested Bhagina Faruk, 23, and Al Amin, 24, from an under-construction building on Tipu Sultan Road in Old Dhaka around 10:00am, said Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman, in-charge of Media and Community Service of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
As per their statements, police later raided a house at Swamibag and recovered two pistols, three magazines and five bullets, the DC said.
Faruk and Al Amin have been taken to DB office on Minto Road, the DC said.
Dakat Shahid, accused in 18 cases including six for murder, was killed in the gunfight with Rab at Laxmibazar in Old Dhaka on July 3 this year.
More than 100 general diaries were filed against him with different police stations in the capital.
