NARAYANGANJ: At least five day labourers, including two of a family, were killed as sacks of cement, stored inside a park, fell on them in Godmile area under Siddhirganj thana of the Sadar upazila on Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as Jasim, 25, Nazmul, 27, Nasir Uddin, 22, Adu Mia, 50, and his son Rakib, 20.
Witnesses said some sacks of cement stored inside an under-construction Park suddenly fell on the labourers at about 8:30am while they were sleeping, leaving them dead on the spot.
Locals suspected that the cement bags fell on them due to the earthquake.
